Principle of art
Prepared by: Reo Paolo M. Uri

Rhythm- is the regular repetition of lines, shapes, colors, and other art elements in the same or similar ways to suggest flowing movement. The repetition of any art element over and over forms a pattern. Rhythmic patterns can be achieved by repetition, alteration, or progression as shown in paintings such as Fernando Zoble's Carroza and Vicente Manansala's Jeepneys.

Monements- is the principle of art used to create the look and feel of action, and to guide the viewer's eyes throughout a work of art. Artists create movements through a careful blending of elements such a line and shape. This is shown in the paintings Homage to Tandang Sora by Hernando R. Ocampo. Pounding Rice by Anita Magsaysay ant winnowing rice. Bagong Taon by Arturo Luz uses the line as single dominant elements in his work. The paintings has a built in suggestion of movements and rhythm.
